Indeed, the Chromebook Pixel seems like another bit of evidence that Google is getting better at what Apple does best faster than Apple is getting better at what Google does best.

Day One

I decided to give the iOS and Mac app Day One a try again after all the reviews this week. The app was updated and added some nice refinements.

I’m using Day One to track what I eat. It’s my food journal until I get into a better eating habit. I found a food journal is the ultimate accountability tool. There’s no excuse, and you’ll have a record of your transgressions.

It’s a fine Mac and iOS app. I highly recommend it.

Trying Two New Mac Apps: Sparrow and Tweetbot

I’m trying Sparrow, “a new way to mail on your Mac.” I’ll use Sparrow to replace Apple’s Mail app. The only problem I have with Sparrow’s iOS apps is the lack of access to folders from different accounts. I use iCloud as my main folder and email repository. I hope I’ll be able to sort my mail in the folders easily. We’ll see.

I gave up on Twitter’s Mac App a while ago. Tonight I installed Tweetbot for Mac Public Alpha. It’s an Alpha, but it’s already better than Twitter’s app. Two other Twitter apps I’ve used recently are Osfoora for Twitter and YoruFukurou.

Apple Third Party Accessories

I expect a lot from Apple. I also expect a lot from accessory makers. I’m a hug fan of Twelve South. Their design is simple, elegant and useful. A perfect combination.
