Apple Reston Store Construction Update

June 30th, 2009 adam No comments

Since my last trip to Reston Town Center in March, the Apple Retail Store construction has moved to a new phase. In March, the barricade almost reached the street and parking was blocked directly in front of the store’s entrance.

As of June 29, only a black barrier is in front of where the new store entrance will be. The space below the fascia of the building and above the barrier, is where I’m assuming the Apple logo will be installed. Below is a picture of the construction from Market Street facing east.

I was able to get a picture of the actual work permit you can see to the left of the DANGER sign.

Here’s a picture of the actual work permit. I’ve copied all the text from the permit below the picture. But if you click on the picture you can pretty much read everything.

I can’t wait for the Apple Retail Store to open this fall. The Reston Best Buy has a decent Apple section, but the service there is always lacking. I’ve been spoiled by the Tyson’s Corner and Fair Oaks Apple Retail stores. I’ll definitely be in line for the grand opening.

Here’s what’s on the work permit:

Apple Reston Store Construction

March 29th, 2009 adam 6 comments

I stopped by Reston Town Center Saturday, a cool and overcast day. As I walked up Market Street, I noticed the black barrier in front of a store being renovated. Then I remembered it’s work on the new Apple store scheduled to open this fall.

Here’s a picture of the work from across the street in front of the movie theater taken from my iPhone.

Here’s a picture from a little further up Market Street from my iPhone.

It looks like most of the work is being done so the Apple logo can be added above the store entrance and embedded in the building’s facade.

I can’t wait for this fall. Reston’s Best Buy has a nice new Apple display and small accessory section. Unfortunately the Best Buy staff isn’t really helpful. I wish Microsoft would’ve sent their commercial folks into the Reston Best Buy. She would’ve gotten no help and then left upset wishing she were cooler so she could get a Mac. But I digress.

Only six or so months until it opens. I’ll be in line on opening day.
